Project Goals
Description of the Project Goals
The goal of this project is to enable the vulnerable poor people in remote villages to have access to safe drinking water, understand the importance of safe drinking water in disease prevention and other basic preventive health measures through public health education and possibly reduce the death rate from common preventable diseases of diarrhoea, dysentery, cholera and other water borne diseases.
In order to achieve this goal, Marita Foundation is setting up water purification systems in schools, health centres and carrying out public health education in schools and communities. Marita foundation is also empowering rural women to sustainably improve their economic wellbeing through self-sustaining economic projects to the organised community groups
